Artichoke plant

Artichoke (leaf) – Digestive bitter, Artichoke aids in the production of bile, tones and protects the liver & gall bladder ,and has regenerative properties. Antioxidant. May help lower cholesterol.

Ashwagandha, looking like the nightshade family member that it is

Ashwagandha (root) – Adaptogen, anti-inflammatory, immune modulator, tonic sedative. Buhner suggests that Ashwagandha, which is native to India, is especially useful for issues pertaining to mycoplasma infections.

Astragalus plant

Astragalus (root) – Primary TCM immune support, adaptogenic, anti-viral. Good for people who catch other people’s colds all the time. Not indicated for chronic Lyme disease, otherwise part of Buhner’s Core Protocol.

Avena, the milky oat seed

Avena (milky seed and green stems) – Made from the green stems and milky tops of oat grass. Contains antioxidants which have been shown to improve blood flow to the heart and brain. Helps relieve stress by reducing inflammatory cytokines and certain enzymes which can induce depression.
